What is Leela?

“Lila” (or Leela) is translated from Sanskrit as “Game”. Leela teaches us to perceive life as a game – to accept every moment with an open heart. It helps us plumb the depths of our wisdom to answer all sorts of questions.

The transformative game of life, Leela, is a working model of the Great Game, developed in ancient times and brought to the Western world by Harish Johari, an Indian artist, sculptor, composer, musician, singer, teacher and philosopher, who published the book Leela in 1975. A game of self-discovery.”

Leela philosophy is the quintessence of Vedic knowledge. Ancient yogis, having explored the labyrinth of the human mind, identified 72 initial states of being and consciousness, and these states correspond to 72 cells of the game Lila.

The oldest game of self-discovery, Leela, is a gift for every person on the path. By using this game as a mirror of real life, you can save many years. The years that you would have spent searching for the path that led you to this incarnation, thanks to which you incarnated.

The game “Lila” is a tool of self-knowledge that allows you to “check the path” and, if necessary, correct the direction of movement. Lila is one of the systems of self-knowledge, a way of understanding life and the laws of the Universe.

In Leela, the skill of a guide who can convey to you the meaning of all moves is of particular value, because each of the 72 cells of the field is unique and has many meanings.

Throughout the game, the guide explains the essence of Lila and your interaction with the playing field, helps you understand and interpret everything that the game suggests.

During the passage of Lila, the participant comes to understand what aspects need to be focused on in order to realize the intended goals. If your goal is defined and formulated, Lila will show you the most optimal and safe path to this goal.

What do psychologists think about this game?

American psychologist Lisa Feldman Barrett tells us from a psychological point of view, “Lila” is a game that almost entirely depends on the leader.

“This game can be classified as a projective technique that allows you to work with a person’s subconscious. And, in general, in itself it does not have any negative impact. Moreover, it can be useful! But it is the leaders who pose the greatest danger, and their personality is very important. And not only their training, but also their worldview.”

“Lila” can be compared to a compass that tells us the right path.

“In fact, this compass is already built inside every person, simply due to many features of modern life, we do not notice a lot. Therefore, sometimes we turn to tools such as “Lila”, which clearly highlight growth points for us. This is not just a game that makes it possible to relax, it is a way to understand: am I really on my way, and not moving along the road invented by our parents, colleagues, husbands, partners,” she explains.

“Lila” will be especially useful in the following cases:

  • loss of life guidelines;
  • chronic stress;
  • painful relationships;
  • lack of meaning in life;
  • financial failures;
  • irrational anxiety.
